It is shown by the evidence that the street car was an open summer car, crowded with passengers; and that when it approached the crossing, according to the testimony of some of the witnesses, it proceeded with more than ordinary speed. As this street car neared the crossing an east bound train on the steam car tracks approached the intersection of the tracks of the two roads; and this approaching train was plainly in view of both the driver of the street car and the gatekeeper, if they had been on the lookout for it.
