This is an action of tort in which the plaintiff seeks to recover damages for injuries sustained by falling upon a slippery and greasy floor on the premises maintained by the defendant, a department store in Worcester, as a result of the alleged negligence of the defendant in maintaining the premises. The defendant filed a general denial, and further answered that the plaintiff was guilty of contributory negligence.
