1. Master and servant : Safety Appliance Act: guarding machinery: concrete mixer. The defendants were engaged in laying a pavement upon a street in the city of Des Moines, and.plaintiff was one of their employees in the performance of that work. In preparing material for the pavement, defendants made use of a machine known as a concrete mixer, operated by steam power.
