The State appeals the Trial Court’s (Fitzgerald, J.) dismissal of an indictment against the defendant, George Knickerbocker, Jr., for second degree murder. We reverse and remand.

The trial court’s order recites the following relevant facts. The defendant was charged with causing the death of Adam Robbins, a one-month-old infant. On February 18, 1988, the infant and his two-and-one-half-year-old brother, Joshua, were left in the defendant’s care by their mother, Denise Robbins, in an apartment they and the defendant shared with Benoit St. Martin.
