Pierron, J.:
In this personal injury/automobile accident case, Sandra Mast appeals the district court’s ruling that her negligence action is barred by the statute of limitations. We reverse.
The facts are not in dispute. On March 16, 1998, Bradley Kinnard, an employee and driver of a City of Wichita (City) dump truck, changed lanes and collided with Mast’s van. Mast suffered personal injuries and property damage. A little over a month after the accident, on April 24, 1998, the City paid $1,865 directly to Mast for damages to her van.
