TACHA, Circuit Judge.

Defendant-Appellant Edward Zuniga pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 922(g)(1). The district court enhanced Mr. Zuniga’s sentence under the Armed Career Criminal Act (“ACCA”) and sentenced him to 180 months’ imprisonment. See 18 U.S.C. § 924(e)(1). On appeal, Mr. Zuniga asserts that he was denied due process and that his prior conviction for possession of a deadly weapon in a penal institution does not qualify as a predicate “violent felony” pursuant to the ACCA.
