Before bringing an action for damages against tbe city of Charlotte, tbe following is necessary to be done, under tbe amended charter: “No action for damages against said city of any character whatever, to either person or property, shall be instituted against said city unless within six months after tbe happening or inflicting of tbe injury complained of, tbe complainant, bis executors or administrator, shall have given to tbe board of aldermen of said city notices of such injury in writing, stating in such notice tbe date and ■place of happening or infliction of such injury, tbe manner of…
