I. BACKGROUND

On April 16, 1986 the United States Attorney caused two grand jury subpoenas duces tecum to be served on employees of appellant Western Union Telegraph Company. The first subpoena requested production of Western Union's Agency Monthly Summary of Activity Report of wire transactions at the Royalle Inn, Kansas City, Missouri for the period January, 1985 through February, 1986. The second subpoena requested production of Western Union’s Telegraphic Money Order Applications for amounts of $1,000.00 or more from the Royalle Inn for the period January, 1984…
