After a jury trial in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, the Honorable Ann Aldrich presiding, defendant Salvatore T. “Sam” Busacca was convicted of six counts of embezzling funds from an employee benefit plan in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 664 and one count of participating in the affairs of an enterprise through a pattern of racketeering activity in violation of the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (“RICO”), 18 U.S.C. § 1962(c). 1 At the close of trial, Busacca filed a motion for acquittal.
