MEMORANDUM OPINION AND ORDER ON DEFENDANTS’ MOTION FOR SUMMARY JUDGMENT

Plaintiff Tammi McDaniel brought this action on behalf of the heirs of Sandy McDaniel, who died as a result of head injuries he received in a motorcycle accident on July 14, 1995. Plaintiff alleges that defects in the retention system of the helmet McDaniel was wearing — which was manufactured by defendant Bieffe Helmets SRL in Italy and sold in this country by defendant Bieffe USA, Inc.— caused the helmet to come off his head during impact and thereby caused his fatal head injury.
