At a jury trial, defendant was convicted of assault with intent to commit murder, MCLA 750.83; MSA 28.278, and armed robbery, MCLA 750.529; MSA 28.797. Acting in propria persona, defendant filed a motion for a new trial based only on the alleged failure of the people to establish venue, which was denied by the trial court. It should be noted that in this motion there was no claim of error because defendant was not given the right to conduct his own trial, because of the alleged incompetency of his attorney, or because he was not afforded a forensic psychiatric evaluation.
