On December 1, 1977, defendant union propounded its first set of interrogatories to plaintiff. The certificate of service contained therein indicated that all parties were mailed a copy of these interrogatories *751on November 30, 1977. Plaintiff’s responses were, therefore, due on or about January 2, 1978. However, plaintiff did not answer, object, or request an extension of time to answer or object to those interrogatories.
