We granted certiorari to review the court of appeals’ judgment in Denver Post Corp. v. Cook, 104 P.3d 293 (Colo.App.2004). 1 Joined by the Jefferson County Sheriffs Department (“Sheriff’), Wayne and Katherine Harris and Thomas and Susan Klebold (“Harris and Klebold”) challenge the appellate court’s decision that recordings made by their sons and seized by the Sheriff pursuant to a valid search warrant from their home are public records under Colorado’s Open Records Act (CORA), §§ 24-72-201 to -206, C.R.S.
