¶ 1. This medical malpractice case is before this Court on writ of certiorari. A divided Court of Appeals reversed a grant of summary judgment in favor of the defendants. Northrop v. Hutto, 9 So.3d 388, 2008 Miss.App. LEXIS 352 (Miss. Ct.App. June 10, 2008). The issue before the Court is what testimony is required from a medical expert witness to establish a prima facie case sufficient to defeat a motion for summary judgment in a medical-malpractice case.
