OPINION
TIMMER, Presiding Judge.
¶ 1 Under the “automobile exception” to the Fourth Amendment warrant requirement, law enforcement officers can search a vehicle lawfully in them custody if probable cause exists to believe that the vehicle contains contraband, even in the absence of exigent circumstances. United States v. Johns, 469 U.S. 478, 484, 105 S.Ct. 881, 83 L.Ed.2d 890 (1985).
