QUESTION: May a state agency require an employee to reimburse it for cash shortages occurring in the employee's job functions or accounts attributable to error or negligence on the part of the employee?
SUMMARY: Revolving or petty cash funds within the purview of ss. 18.101 and 216.271, F.S., are established outside the State Treasury upon proper request of a state agency, department, or official and upon approval as provided therein.
