Tillery was convicted of second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon and fourth-degree unlawful disposition of a weapon, arising from one of the five controlled purchases of weapons for which he was charged. The jury was unable to reach a verdict on the remaining charges. The trial court sentenced defendant to a twenty-year extended-term sentence for the second-degree offense and a concurrent nine-month sentence for the fourth-degree offense, and granted the State's motion to dismiss the remaining charges against defendant.
