This is an appeal and cross appeal from a judgment of the district court of Montgomery county on a workman’s compensation case.

*59The plaintiff is a corporation which owns and operates a zinc smelter at Cherryvale.

The defendant, Joe Hamer, for more than a year immediately prior to September 22, 1925, was an employee of plaintiff. On that date his left arm was severely burned by an explosion of molten metal, which totally incapacitated him for some time.
