On July 23, 2013, Dezzaccues Nixon (“the father”) filed a verified complaint in the Autauga Circuit Court (“the trial court”) in which he sought an award of custody of the two minor children born of his relationship with Amanda Tucker (“the mother”). The mother and the father were never married. The father also moved for an award of temporary custody of the children.
