Respondent-Father Preston H. appeals from orders (1) terminating any obligation on the part of the Haywood County Department of Social Services to attempt to reunify D.E.G.1 with Respondent-Father *382and changing the permanent plan for David to one of adoption and (2) terminating Respondent-Father’s parental rights in David. On appeal, Respondent-Father contends that Judge Holt erred by authorizing DSS to cease attempting to reunify him with David and that Judge Walker erred by excusing his trial counsel from appearing on his behalf at the termination hearing.
