This case demonstrates once again that “the shortest way around is often the longest way through.” Webb v. Standard Oil Co., 5 Cir., 1971, 451 F.2d 284, 285.
Suit was filed by the appellant Burns under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 42 U.S.C.A. § 2000e et seq. and 42 U.S.C.A. § 1981, 1 against his former employer, the Thiokol Chemical Corporation, both in an individual capacity and as a “private attorney-general” representing a class of aggrieved Blacks.
