Appeal from a judgment of the County Court of Tompkins County (Sherman, J.), rendered March 18, 1994, upon a verdict convicting defendant of the crime of aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the first degree.

At approximately 11:30 p.m. on September 4, 1992, and after a three-mile chase, defendant was stopped for speeding by State Trooper Thomas Huttleston.
