The defendant was convicted of making a false affidavit and has appealed. The indictment of the grand jury charges, so far as necessary to notice, that defendant came before S. B. Evans, then and there a notary public, “then and there contriving and intending to cheat and defraud the Hartford Fire Insurance Company, the Fire Insurance Company of Pennsylvania and the Fire Insurance Company of North America and did then and there unlawfully, willfully, corruptly and falsely before the said S.
