We granted certiorari to review the court of appeals’ decision in People v. Vialpando, 695 P.2d 1192 (Colo.App.1984), which affirmed a judgment entered on a jury verdict finding the defendant, Theodore R. Vialpando, ineligible for release from commitment following an adjudication of not guilty by reason of insanity.
