—Appeal by the defendant from a judgment of the Supreme Court, Kings County (Lipp, J.), rendered May 7, 1997, convicting him of murder in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, upon a jury verdict, and imposing sentence.

Ordered that the judgment is affirmed.

The defendant was convicted of intentional murder for shooting the victim to death during an altercation. On appeal, the defendant contends that reversible error occurred because the prosecutor was permitted to elicit evidence that on a prior occasion he had hit the victim with a baseball bat. Contrary…
