This case comes before us on appeal from the decree of the circuit court of the United States for the eastern district of Arkansas dismissing a bill of review, so termed. The chief question to be considered is one of lis pendens, and the controlling facts on which the decision depends are as follows: Prior to December 16, 1880, there were pending in the United States circuit court for the eastern district of Arkansas, on the chancery docket, nine distinct and independent suits by Henry M.
