The plaintiff has brought suit ‘for rent under a written lease for the term of four years given by him to the defendants in April, 1929. The declaration alleges that the defendants have failed to pay rent as provided in the lease during a fourteen months’ period beginning with the month of June, 1931, and ending with the month of July, 1932. At the trial, which was in the Superior Court before a jury, the plaintiff did not contend that he was entitled to recover rent for that period at the full monthly rate of $100 stated in the lease.
