This case presents for determination a question which has been very generally discussed during the past year, namely, what amounts to the practice of law on the part of a corporation. The respondent Meisel, doing business under the name of L. Meisel & Co., went to the office of the appellant, the National Jewelers Board of Trade (a New York membership corporation) in 1913, and asked it to collect a claim which he had against one F. W. Wedgren, who was in bankruptcy. Respondent was informed that Wedgren was in bankruptcy1, and that it would be necessary for him to file a claim in bankruptcy…
