This was a suit by the plaintiff, Mae Graham, represented by her mother, Mrs. Minnie Graham, as next friend, against the Western Union Telegraph Company, as defendant, to recover damages because of mental anguish claimed to have been suffered by plaintiff in consequence of the alleged negligent .failure on the part of the defendant to transmit and deliver to her a .telegraphic message. A trial before the court without a jury resulted in a judgment in the plaintiff’s favor for $1,500, from which judgment the Western Union Telegraph Company has prosecuted an appeal to this…
