This is a patent infringement case.

Plaintiff, Leighton Technologies LLC (“Leighton”), owns U.S. Patent Nos. 5,817,207, 6,036,099, 6,214,155 and 6,514,-367 (collectively, the “Patents” or “patents in suit”). All four Patents relate to radio frequency identification (“RFID”) technology, which is the basis for the so-called “smart card,” a plastic card that includes an electronic element (such as a computer chip) and a reader, and that is used in numerous common applications including security swipe cards,…
