delivered the opinion of the court.

The plaintiff brought an action on the case in the superior court of Cook county against three carriers — ■ the New York Central Railroad, the Baltimore & Ohio Chicago Terminal Railroad, and the Indiana Harbor Belt Railroad Company. At the close of all the evidence defendants (except the Indiana Harbor Belt R. R. Co.) were granted instructions in their favor. The cause was submitted to a jury which returned a verdict for plaintiff for $12,800, upon which the court, overruling motions for a new trial and in arrest, entered…
