During tbe course of bis employment, and arising out of it, Edwards received a ruptured intervertebral disc. Despite several months of conservative treatment by three specialists in tbe treatment and cure of such an injury, bis disabibty has continued to be total, and, in the absence of surgery, will, in tbe opinion of these doctors, so remain. They are unanimous in recommending tbat be undergo surgery called by them a “laminectomy”.
