The school district of the Borough of Gilberton is of the fourth class, as defined by the Code of 1911, and the conduct of its affairs is regulated by the provisions of that act, as supplemented by later legislation. In 1922 it contracted an indebtedness of $100,000, being less than two per cent of the assessed valuation of the property therein, and by resolution provided for the collection of an annual tax of seven mills for the payment of the principal and interest.
