The motion of petitioner captioned as a CPLR article 78 proceeding seeks to proceed pro se and that Robert Dana, an inmate law clerk, be appointed as his spokesman or advocate with respect to this proceeding in the place of his designated attorney at law duly admitted to practice law under our judicial system, is denied as the court is unaware of any authority which permits a lay person to appear on another person’s behalf and to act as his attorney in a court of law *881unless admitted to so practice.
