This is a statutory short form indictment in two counts charging that the defendant (1) “on, to wit, the eighteenth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred fifty-five * * * did murder one Deborah Conlon”; and (2) “between the twelfth day of November * * * and, to wit, the twenty-first day of November * * * did murder one Deborah Conlon.” The indictment was returned in April 1957 and thereafter the defend ant was convicted by a jury in the superior court of manslaughter.
