These appeals stem from criminal prosecutions in connection with the death of Maynon Freeman. In a fifteen-count indictment, defendants Darrien Jaron Pye and Lorenzo F. Chambers were indicted, inter alia, on charges of felony murder, aggravated assault, armed robbery, and hijacking a motor vehicle. Pye and Chambers each moved to suppress oral and written statements they had given the police, and, in identical, consolidated orders, the trial court granted the motions.
