F, Danforth, treasurer, and John Bogart, state engineer and surveyor, as members of said board, to show cause why they should not be punished for contempt of court.

After the state election in 1891, a controversy -arose in the county of Dutchess over the canvass by the board of *346county canvassers of the vote for state senator. The county clerk, as secretary of the board of canvassers, refused to sign the statements of canvass as made by the board of canvassers, and said board thereupon by resolution appointed John J.
