MEMORANDUM AND ORDER ON MOTIONS TO SUPPRESS EVIDENCE

JOSÉ A. CABRANES, District Judge:

A federal grand jury sitting in Bridgeport has returned a two-count indictment, charging each of the defendants with a single violation of 18 U.S.C. App. § 1202(aXl). Under that statute, the receipt, possession or transportation “in commerce or affecting commerce” of “any firearm” by a “person who has been convicted by a court of the United States or of a State or any subdivision thereof of a felony” is a federal crime. 1
