James Hines died in the city of Greensboro,, in this State, on 23 July, 1926. His death was caused by the negligence of defendant, a corporation organized and doing business under the laws of the State of New York. Deceased at the date of his death was employed by defendant as a. laborer, at Greensboro, N. C., where defendant was engaged in the construction of a hotel. Defendant is liable for such damages as are a fair and just compensation for the pecuniary injury resulting from the death of the deceased, to be recovered by his administrator, in an action brought within one year after his…
