SPEAR, J.

The state appeals1 from the judgment of the trial court dismissing the informatio'n that charged the defendant, Wilson J. Bolanos, with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of intoxicating liquor in violation of General Statutes § 14-227a.2 The state claims that the trial court improperly granted the defendant’s motion to suppress all evidence seized as a result of his arrest because the arresting officer had a reasonable and articulable suspicion that the defendant was operating under the influence and properly stopped him.
