William W. Gilbert, the appellee, on the 12th day of April, 1922, while at work in the plant of The American Sugar Refining Company, in the City of Batimore, had his hand caught in a conveyor of sugar, which resulted in the “loss of the thumb and part of the metacarpal bone, in addition to the injuries to his hand and first finger.” It appears from the record that Stone & Webster Company, a body corporate,' under a contract with The American Sugar Refining Company, had installed the electrical machinery in its new plant, • and in so doing the appellee was one of its employees.
