Artie M. Callen commenced her action for divorce against Samuel H. Callen in the district court of Montgomery county on the 7th day of June, 1887, and in her petition alleged causes for divorce in these words :

“That during the time she lived with Callen as his wife he was guilty of gross neglect of duty, and was guilty of extreme cruelty toward the plaintiff without cause or provocation on the part of the plaintiff. And the plaintiff further alleges that on, to wit, the — day of May, 1886, the defendant, disregarding his marital obligations, willfully and without cause…
