The indictment grows out of the construction by the defendant Hudson Valley Construction Company, under contract with the State, of the Great Meadow Prison at Comstock, Washington county, N. T. The defendant, its president, its superintendent in charge of the work, its inspector of material, its timekeeper, its paymaster and auditor, and also the Superintendent of State Prisons, the State Architect and the Deputy State Architect were jointly indicted.
