The plaintiff, who was 56 years of age and had been chief of police in the town of Clear Lake, Iowa, for eleven years, and the defendant, who was 47 years of age, or thereabouts, were united in marriage on April 20, 1934. Bach of them had been previously married. Plaintiff’s former wife was dead. The defendant had been the wife of a doctor from whom she was divorced. She had a high school education and had received some nurse’s training.
