WEISBERGER, Justice.

This case comes before us on appeal from a judgment of the Superior Court wherein the plaintiff was awarded $650,000 for personal injuries allegedly caused by the negligence of the defendant and by its leasing of defective construction machinery. This case was earlier tried in 1975 in the Superi- or Court, where a judgment for the plaintiff in the amount of $370,550 resulted.
