The People of the State of Illinois, the Attorney General of the State, and sixteen persons, stockholders of the Illinois Central Railroad Company and tax-payers, filed their bill of complaint in the superior court of Cook county to enjoin the Southern Illinois and Kentucky Railroad Company (a) from constructing a railroad between Edgewood and Metropolis; (b) from permitting the Illinois Central Railroad Company to acquire, operate or control such railroad; and (c) from issuing any capital stock to the Illinois Central Railroad Company or any of its officers, directors, agents or employees;…
