The plaintiff was the owner of a strip of land about 900 feet long and 189-f- feet deep fronting on Locust street, in the city of Omaha, and designated as “tax lot 57.” For the purpose of opening Twenty-second street from some point south to Locust street the city appropriated a strip of land 66 feet wide across the land of the plaintiff. The result of opening this street was to leave tax lot 57 in two tracts, one extending east from Twenty-second street, so extended, 314 feet, the other extending west from Twenty- ■ second street 507 feet.
