On the night of April 6, 1948, at the place called “El Canódromo,” at Muñoz Rivera Park, San Juan, Puerto Rico, Saturnino Torres Echevarria killed David H. Daniel, a soldier of the United States Army with a pistol, and inflicted three serious wounds on the civilian Luis Antonio Matos Espada.
