AGEE, Circuit Judge:

A jury in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia convicted Nicholas Young of one count of attempting to provide material support to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant ("ISIL"), a designated foreign terrorist organization ("FTO"), in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 2339B, as well as two counts of *374 attempting to obstruct justice, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 1512 (c)(2).
