The Superintendent of the Insurance Department, on the 24th day of March, 1871, instituted a suit in the circuit court of Jackson county against the Kansas City Eire & Marine Insurance Company, the purpose of which was, among others, to enjoin it from carry-ing on its business as an insurance company, and to wind up its affairs. On the 9th day of August, 1871, a decree was rendered in said cause enjoining and restraining said company from conducting business, and with a view to winding up its affairs. L. C.
